Today was the introduction on the five different themes here in Leksand on Rework. The five themes were Energy, Water, Land, People and Cities. The five introductions are then followed by many workshops in which each theme intentionally and simultaneously can rework the world. As you may now, I am interested in nature.

Nature is all around us and within us. Therefore I can’t exclude people and cities from nature. Still one thing brought me to the theme introduction on what we highly exists of and as well is the dominant substance on this planet; water.

WATER IS ALL THAT CHANGES

I came into the introduction session one hour late so I had to update myself through asking a 17-year-old student from Leksand. It became clear that the three main questions surrounding water on this session were following:

  • How can we get water? (In small communities, poor rural areas, cities etc)
  • How can we get clean water? (To be able to drink the water without running the risk of being poisoned)
  • How can we take care of waste products such as garbage and toilet waste?

In my experience, we are very lucky here in Sweden and all around Europe being provided with drinking water and toilets simply everywhere. Therefore it seemed like the main attention was drawn towards the developing world. Three strong projects were presented as the solutions on the first question; how can we give water to people in such as Africa. Exactly that stance made me think.

Who are we as a developed world given to offer Africa water? The process went on with a problem based process. People in the session were told that we have to sit around the table with a problem in the middle. Then we can create creative solutions. This kind of technique to first realise the problem and then overcome it is classical. In my experiences, it makes people complain even more and talk even more about us without even including ourselves. Its about talking about innovative solutions but using the same approach as in the past. They said awareness comes first in order for change to happen. I think conscious experiences makes the flow. We get experiences that flows through interacting with the water in ourselves. Through understanding water in ourselves, we have to change, just like the water does!

Water is not a problem, neither is climate change a threat. Rising water levels is not a problem. It is NATURE!

Nature is like it is, simply natural flow. We, and including myself are on the path towards realising the breaking opportunity to spend more time in Nature to build a friendship with all the trees, rivers, soil, plants and animals. Through seeing we can start to understand. I believe we have to get closer to the real nature and the real capacity within ourselves to be able to start reworking the world.

I want to finish with some powerful sentences i picked up during a big youth meeting in the evening:

Inclusion is making sense of sustainability.

The individual intentions, passions and dreams from young people makes our planet shake! Young people are causing earthquakes in social entrepreneurship!

A New Perspective on Work

leave a comment »

The burning question I have one day before REWORK is actually how are we going to rework this world?

♥In my experience, the concept rework is about providing the next generation with jobs that is suitable for their time, so not copy the same mistakes that previous generation have caused. Still I encourage mistakes to learn from individually and collectively. We experience the effect of that cause today as a crisis. I would like to go beyond just cause and effect.

Reworking the world is for me aswell working with the subjects beyond the normal problem/solution field of approach. If we are literally going to rework the world in a better way than today, we can’t work in the same way as we did in the past. That creates a new form of the concept “work”. As Einstein said; we can’t use the same thinking as we did in the past when we created the problem we now face today. Well, are we really done with rethinking the world?

  • The new way of working is what I want to explore now. What speaks to me now is concepts like encouraging diversity, working collaborative and understanding relationships – relationships in us, with people and with nature.

To end with a solution is therefore talking about something and doing something else. It is the moment dimmed consciousness.
Therefore, I urge everyone who really wants to rework the world to do it out of love. There is a more condition based way of operating. Love is everywhere and it’s always present. The question is if you are? In my experience, love is the source of growth and eternal creation. If we are about to create sustainable relationships with nature, we have to start open up for nature to teach us how to go about that. That is eternal innovation.

  • One thing is for sure; we as young representers will share the eternal stories in the next few days with YOU!

Why Rework the World?

Critical approach to “Sustainable” efforts

Hearing Carl Mossfeldt, one of the heads of state during the Rework the World, I feel motivated to explore some questions. I get questions that I seek to explore during this large summit in Leksand, Sweden. I am part of a group of young people, together forming a team that is literally representing the voice of youth.

On a global level, this conference could push the limits of many barriers today. Inviting local heros, business man, millionaires to collectively take a step towards providing young people green jobs in the future creates excitement.

Where is the money really going in these times when sustaibale business and foreign aid is increasing?

Listen to the rhythm of nature and create your own holistic understanding of our planet.

This conference will possible create positive loops for the enviroment. In that sense, a new market that is not focused on economic growth, the current management of resources and centralized decision powers can possible emerge. My market is not consuming resources, it is trading moral values and collaborative efforts in diversity.

I must say that I am very critical to the name Rework. People may think we do not have very much time until we stand in front of a global mass destructive natural disaster that would cut a large amount of the citizens at our planet. Are we ready to take action? How much is just an endless combat between economical powers?

I must admit that I don’t know what is really the interest behind this conference.

    • For me, the most important energy I would bring into the field of Leksand  is to promote the importance of really understanding how nature works before we work in nature.

So either you call it a panic conference that are just spreading the good word that we are in the right directions, ignoring the fact that we often tend to look upon global warming without understanding its real source. We can also call it a big discovery in terms of entrepreneurship and sustainability on a global level. I believe that what we consider work today has to shift towards a relationship with the natural world. Before creating a whole new ecosystem of business, do we really understand the ecosystem in nature?

My hopes is that I will get inspired by innovations made in the areas of Water, Energy and Land. My hope is that entrepreneurs on this conference are driven by profound dreams and not by financial income or by the comfort through solving issues. I also seek to explore dialogues with inspiring changemakers from different countries. I intend to tell the stories with the Dream Team, spread it to a global audience through the true perspective of youths.

Courage to face Myself

with one comment

If my thoughts are visible
If the trees are alive
My self as the wood
Where is the source?

Understanding my history
Gives light to my actions
To shine upon my being
Fulfilled with the greatness
The greatness of my soul

We are all outside
We are all inside
There is curiosity to explore

Exploring the power of Creation
There is curiosity to face the invisible
Together we create the miracles

The 13th Crocodile

The end where it begins

13 Imix – Crocodile is an interesting day in the Mayan Calendar. As the calendar works, this combination occurs only every 260 day.

This day highly affected human consciousness. This is my experience of that day:

Our Oasis ACT group where in a tense position of not knowing. The social situation was at stake. Could everyone really take this climate, chaos and language barrier and do something as planning the next days without knowing? However, the social health is very important in these situations. We already experienced someone being very sick because of too much work here in Rio Branco.

Somone said that we never really felt together, as one group anytime here in Brazil.
It has always been something weaker and therefore caused a mental separation. I don’t know if I would agree fully on this but I can see the point.

Suddenly, out of nothing really, we had arranged a meeting with two indigenous leaders. Both of them stayed at a hotel room in the center of Rio Branco. Five of us went there and experienced a almost two hour conversation between five gringos and five indigenous guys. That was something in the air that made everything easy. They explained about the situation in there aldeia (community). They all had great organizations running as backups, managing resource plans, programs for strengthening the culture and exchange initiatives for learning between indeigenous communities. This was not always something new but for me it showed once again that these guys are looking outwards, towards organizational support.

I asked the question of what would be needed for an exchange between youths and indigenous tribes? I saw the crucial point of an exhange because youths nowdays, in my opinion, have to get an experience of what such lifestyle is like. The indigenous in their way are looking for diversity, looking for help building their dream. A win-win situation. The guy answered that we need an organizational strucuture that would work with an exchange between education in cities and indigenous communities.

We came back from the meeting in the hotel room to our apartment. We discovered that something was needed to be brought up in a discussion. It’s about a serious disconnection in the group, A unhealthy, longoing suffering that is being pushed and pushed without taking care of.

We had a long four hours conversation that held a authentic and true heart space. Everyone in the space was connected. In my sense, there was something larger moving us.

The end of something old and rotten, the birth of emergence of the new. This new would be our amazing and exciting travel to an indigenous aldeia in Assis Brasil. But that is another story!

Agro Forestry

with one comment

Agro Forestry = the way to co-evolve ecosystems:)

Me and Stephanie went to an agroforestry farm and worked for two days. Here is the story!

Working with agro forestry is a feeling of oneness and freedom. The concept is all about experimenting and courage to do the crazy things you normally don’t have space for in the daily life. Agro forestry is a method to imitate the way nature evolves. Especially in Brazil, expanding sacred rainforest is the gateway to achieve a spectacular and divine home for humanity. We need to find our home in nature and find the way to heal mother earth from previous demolition. We will still be different, everyone, that is why biodiversity is so important for our planet. These guys working with agro forestry do it for their life.

Marienelson and Eivan are both professionals in Agro Forestry. The life from it, give life and love to the forest. These two guys have been working and cultivating an area for eight years, starting from zero. The process, apart from planting trees, includes building a house and implementing a water system where you can get clean drinking water directly from the tap. This is something very special in Brazil. You don’t think you can drink tap water here, looking at the extent of toilet water in the rivers along the streets. But yes, it is possible for the two brave ones.

My experience working at this farm two days was that life is very simple. You can make it complicated and you can stay where you are. To say that simplicity is boring in the long end is wrong for me. Simplicity is what we always come back to, the feeling of oneness and home. Simplicity is sustainability. Being in this forest is a strong feeling of security. At the same time, you now all the animals that may look at you, sensing your presence.

The animals play a very important role in agro forestry. It is not to only think about planting trees and eating the fruits that comes from it. It’s about to provide the animals with a loving shelter. The banana trees are a perfect example. They give us bananas and protection from the sun. It enable small plants to grow big under the wing of the banana leafs. The banana wood gives nutrition to the soil and a boost for small plants to grow big. It’s all about collaboration. No one is left aside. The ants are very active, eating organism, providing life for new organisms and cultivating the soil.

It is nice to see how life and death is processing on the farm. Right before I left, the biggest pig just died. He was five years old, not very much for a pig. They though he might get poisoned by the cobra snake. However, that is how life is emerging. It’s a new pig, a new friend for the dogs. They need someone not so big to play wrestling with.

So the strongest conclusion I can come with now is that co-evolving an ecosystem is a powerful feeling of oneness. I would so badly like to come back to this farm, seeing how nature and the two brave ones have put their skills into reality. Feel the loving vibrations from the Amazon Rainforest, Soon!

Breaking point of “Oasis Amazonia”

with 2 comments

Today and yesterday the Oasis ACT group went through a stage where we are questioning previous set ideals. What makes me curious and passionate about the future of the Amazon? Questions that matters… Some thought we went here without a set agenda of what is needed in Acre. Some might have thought that we went here to spread the concept of Oasis Amazonia. Individual ideas have to break in order to become a space of co-creation. Going through this breaking point, value systems is being explored. I would believe we are still in that space of minds and judgements. Sometimes but not often, I feel a change in space; people start to talk from open hearts.

Holistic meetings and small conversations in our group have led to a breaking point. For me, Oasis Amazonia is not the concept that we are carrying. I don’t want to spin a web when there already is one. I don’t want to kill what is already living through a new and better system. We are carrying our own passion and skills to give something to this area. Whether it is a set methodology or a tool that we have learned from YIP, I don’t know.

Hence there is already amazing initiatives here that is working with alternatives to cultivate nature, to give something back to the soil. I believe through many conversations with locals in Acre, there are mainly resources that are missing. But what are resources? Do they need to get money from the government in order to expand their farms to become bigger and more effective? Agro forestry is an experiment that is exploring a possibility to imitate and expand the ecosystems that is present in primary rain forests. Primary rainforests are something really awesome. We visited one yesterday! Its like a paradise…

Resources are used for connecting ideals with people. Ideal is though thought of as dream and vision. Something that we want to contribute to the whole organism, mother Earth. People are the pieces in the puzzle. What are their skills and unique abilities that can make us start playing the Puzzle game? The puzzle game already exists because it is evolution. Animals and nature… When do we join? Awareness, there is a choice, start to connect or play the victims of an everlasting co-creation.

To be able to find people and resources, to let curiosity inflame conversations, to break ideals, to raise awareness and to utilize the highest potential of an area in deep need of change.

Its time to open up the heart, and I mean it.
Couragous and courios to possibilities

Four different forms in Universe

leave a comment »

Four different forms in Universe The mysterious mind Sitting here with a though I so badly want to share but have hard time to phrase in order for outer understanding. It has to do with the number four. Four is the number of the sacred elements in which everything is build on (Fire, Water, Air and Earth). Four is the number of directions in which human consciousness is constantly exploring (South, East, North and West). Four is at least the number of forms that appears in universe. What is a form? According to the Diamond Sutra, the first written book on our planet, there are four different forms and they all manifests differently. The first form is what we can perceive with physical senses, what we can see and touch and accept as material. The second form doesn’t manifests as an appearance for the physical eye. Therefore it is know as vibrations and space. The use of this form is known in science as frequency or energy. The third form could only be seen with microscope. It is defined, as sub-atomic particles that we cant not yet perceive with the human eye. It is amazing that science have discovered and walked its way into the super small micro world. The fourth form is the biggest but yet eternal and infinite. Manifestations such as the Milky Way cant fully reach human consciousness. We cant see its beginning neither its ending. These four forms is something we can think of. But can we feel that which one is which in nature and when do we know how to use them together. An experiment in nature is required. As Matthew Pike have written about the courageous Agro Forestry farmers is Acre, to me they have to work with the invisible in which will always be present in ecosystems. We will always live in ecosystems – the ecosystems will always live in us. When we think we want to save the ecosystem, the ecosystem will likely save us. How to tune into the infinite The first step is to realize and understand that there is something more living than physical reality. That is the first law of spirituality. The second law is that universe contains of two different forces. Now, forces and forms should not be mixed up. The extension of forms manifests in two universal spirals. Everything contains of those. Our DNA shows clearly how this works in nature. Everything wants to move in spirals. It is nature’s favorite form! Why is this important for me? This has to do with the mystery of time that contemplates us all! Time is infinite and infinity is love. Mystery of Time and Evolution My thoughts here want to introduce the Mayan Calendar as the outline of evolution. Seeing that evolution has a direction gives me the understanding that time is just a mere illusion of what is actually “real” and that there is no law that everything is decided. The interesting thing for me is that time is infinite and physical objects are just the illusions and manifestations that are related to time during that state of consciousness. Lets take a step back and look into some interesting theories. H.G. Wells was an author and a scientist that was in my opinion a supersensible seer. He was writing about time traveling. When we start to look at Mayan Calendar and we tend to think that evolution is coming to an end, some people even relate it with the end of the world, the final Armageddon. The theories will always be theories and it will always be an open space in which there are no answers. Therefore, I want to acknowledge the Maya for inventing such a calendar that have empowered my thoughts to a larger organism that wants to explode into teachings. I am aware that the way is infinite and, ironically, only time will tell when my inner world is ready for it. I am conscious of that there is no comprehensive understanding of the world and its issues and there will never be. Therefore, I can let go of seeing theories as truths, answers as “the answers” and start to working out from curiosity and emergence. For me, to take the next step I finally want to share my insight regarding the evolution and the possible end date of Mayan Calendar. Hopefully, you have moved into the context I invited you into in the beginning of this document. So, prepare yourself and perceive this with your heart, full of possibilities. Where are we heading and what is going to happen 2012 and beyond? What change do we all need to go through to realize the dreams of all living beings on this planet?

Life in Acre and visions for Amazonia!

Here I am sitting by the river, watching nature and city life in Rio Branco. The grass is green, the sky is blue with some white clouds. Trecena of Wisdom

leave a comment »

#Trecena is one of two sacred cycles in the Mayan Calendar. One Treccena contains of 13 days on Earth. Read more about the Mayan Calendar and its sacred cycles on http://mayaportal.lucita.net

As I am going to the Amazon together with five other shining people, this Trecena is about the wisdom I connect that wisdom with trees. The time is now to realize the space in between yourself and the tree. That is pure wisdom, the ability to overcome knowledge. Through consciously sharing and giving, eternal organisms are created in yourself that is starting living in your mind.

The beginning of everything was said, according to the ancient Chinese story, that it was one man who drew eight hexagrams and suddenly there were trees, water, sunshine, air and mountains. How the four elements could give life to so many different animals and plants is a mystery. However, it was a mastery created out from emptiness, out from nothing.

How a seed is turning into a tree, how it is connected to the sacred natural network, which role it plays in the biodiversity on Earth and how humans relate to trees is questions I intend to move deeper into during our trip to Amazon. It is questions that matters, definitely one of the most important discussions in our time. How life is evaluating and developing as living organisms. We are life. The human species have to take the natural laws into consideration when building communities and moving towards self sufficiency. It is not a need, it’s crucial for future survival.

To see how our ideals have changed over the past 200 years is amazing. It started with poor and rich, black and white, men and woman, capitalism and communism, Christianity and Catholic and you can make the list long.

The dualist era is over.

It is time to wake up to the fact that co-creation is the only way of existing and operating. One is not higher than others. It doesn’t matters if you are the one who makes the “best” change, just if someone is doing it, and that change is in the era of gratitude for the bigger whole.

To come back to the headline and this period of 13 days, I think wisdom is embodied in nature. To realize that we consists of everything, we have all the organisms in universe in our body, I think it is time to brake the boundaries, to step into the light of Goddess, the Ancient Fu.
